Design that survives contact with production.
I am a UI/UX designer in Chicago who also writes the code, so the handoff never gets lost.
I have spent twenty years turning complicated problems into interfaces people can use without thinking about them. That started in 2006 with 3D and interface work, moved through enterprise dashboards, precision-farming terminals, ecommerce platforms and corporate travel tools, and it has not stopped. Most recently that meant redesigning tax accounting systems across three platforms at Amazon.
Somewhere along the way I stopped handing designs over and started building them myself. Today I run 2Pens Media Inc. and have eight apps live on the App Store — including Coinnect, which has been in the store since 2015 and now holds a 4.6★ rating from more than 12,000 ratings. For each of them I did the design, the iOS and Android development, the backend, and everything after launch: analytics, monetization, retention, App Store optimization.
That combination is the point. I know what a design costs to build because I build it. I know which interactions will fight the platform, which screens will hurt retention, and which clever idea is not worth the engineering week. Design decisions get made against user needs and business goals, then they get shipped and measured.
I work with founders and teams who need someone who can take a product from a blank page to something live in the store. If that sounds like what you need, get in touch.
